Editorial

This is the last issue which we shall be editing. New editors will be voted at the forthcoming AGM at the 27th Annual Conference on 24th February at the LSE in London.

The conference will also be your opportunity to contribute to the debate and vote on crucial issues relating to the aims of Radstats. In this issue we include a Thoughtpiece by Ray Thomas. There is also a Proposed Statement from Jay Ginn, Danny Dorling, Ludi Simpson, Dave Gordon, Helen Anderson and ourselves. These two pieces are bound to provoke lively debate and we would encourage you to read these before attending the conference.

We hope that readers have enjoyed the high quality and thought-provoking pieces that we have published over the past two years. We plan to continue our involvement with Radstats, perhaps contributing to the development of the website, so we hope you will be regular visitors.

We have both recently been involved with projects funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Findings for Poverty and Social Exclusion in Britain and Inequalities in life and death: what if Britain were more equal? can be found at www.jrf.org.
